Blogging Software Ready For Some Users
byWe have installed the new blogging software on Realivent.com. There were a few bugs during the move, but I should have them all fixed and ready to move onto adding more features now.
The Realivent community is now run by wordpress blogs. Everyone that joins the Realivent community has access to unlimited blogs. To create a new blog takes about 2 seconds, just login to your Realivent account and then click on ‘Start New Blog’. Choose a subdomain name and a blog title. You will immediately receive a confirmation email to active the blog. After your first blog, all additional blogs will use the same username and password that is assigned to the first. You can go to your Realivent account page to access all your blogs.
One of the best features of the Realivent Blogging Software is that we have created a lot of pages that connect data from your Realivent account to your blogs. We will also be adding more in the future. For example every blog you make will have the ability for you to display all your listings.
Since we are talking about your listings, let look at the best feature of these blogs…automatic creation of ‘Property Listing Blogs’ or what I call PLOGS (better names are currently being accepted). Once you add a listing to your Realivent account, you can then create a blog for that listing in 2 clicks. As soon as the PLOG is created, the featured listing page is created, about me, and contact me. Basically right out of the box you have a full website for your listings, that you can update, just like a blog (It is wordpress). You can also make your posts private if you want to only let the home owner follow the selling of their home.
If you make a blog for your listing, you can then use the Realivent Listing Designer to add your listing to online classified sites, such as Craigslist.com, and people will get direct access to your blog instead of a 3rd party site.
We are currently adding more template (Look and Feel) and more plug-ins. This system uses standard wordpress plug-ins, but since there are multiple users, the plug-in has to be tweaked to stay seperated between the user accounts. Currently I’m working on the Google sitemaps plug-in to allow the owners of the blogs to create sitemaps for Google for insertion to search engines.
It took us a long time to develop this system, and we are very excited to offer it to the community. It is completely free and with the help of the community will grow and grow, and hopefully get a better name (PLOG). any comments and suggestions are welcome. If you would like to help further this software, feel free to drop us an email.
Thanks
Matt
