How to get a Single Property Super Site with a Custom Domain name for only $1.99 per year!

by Team Realivent

Step #1 Start Your Single Property Website

Currently we are offering a Limited Time Special to get FREE Single Property Sites (Completely Ad-FREE)

Just find your custom domain name/URL special and forward it to our system or point your domains to our servers and you've got a custom domain on a Single Property Site!

( We will show you how to do this in the next few steps)

Start a new Site Here

START

Follow the process and enter your business and listing information.

In a few minutes, you should end up with a site similar to these samples:

http://1520thomas.realivent.com/

http://34sun.realivent.com/

http://827adams.realivent.com/

Step #2 Find the Domain Specials

Sometimes Yahoo and GoDaddy run domain name specials which you can get for $1.99 per year (there are some restrictions)

This is an unbelievable price! If the special is not available at Yahoo, try GoDaddy.com or any other domain service that you are familiar with.

This example will focus on Yahoo domains because we use it a lot and it is a fast and simple process.

GoDaddy.com should be as simple. If there are other recommended services, please let us know.

Step #3 Search for your custom URL or domain name.

Step #4 Purchase Domain

Step #5 Complete Your Custom Domain Process

There are 2 ways to complete your custom domain process.

1. URL Forwarding - this is the easiest and fastest.

2. Pointing your DNS settings to our server.

We will focus on #1 since you can do that in a few minutes and do not have to wait for the DNS settings page to appear..

A)Click on the "Go to: Domain Control Panel" as seen in the snapshot below:

B)Click on the Foward Domain Option

C)Click on Foward Domain

D)Enter the address of the Realivent Single Property Site that you just created:

i.e. "123mainst.realivent.com" into the box foward box as seen here…

E)Congratulations You're Done!

Check back at your custom domain name in a few hours and you should see your new site up and running.

It may take anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours for your custom domain name to forward to activate but your site should already be up and running

If you need to see the live site immediately, it is already running at the Realivent URL: "123mainst.realivent.com."

That's it, start marketing it everywhere.

Widgets and Plugins for Real Estate Blogs Summary

    by Team Realivent

In between Inman's Conference last week and developing more tools for agents and brokers we haven't had a chance to summarize some of the key take-aways at the Blogger's Connect Widgets panel…so here it is…  In a quick summary the consensus was (to no surprise) that agents want widgets that increase their business.  One common question was "is there such a thing as too many widgets ?"  One of the drawbacks that Matt mentioned during the panel was slowing down your overall site if you're putting too many widgets that makes too many calls from your site.  The other argument is too many widgets may distract your site's overall effectiveness to focus on your content.  Yes, you want your readers to focus on your content but there are certain widgets and plugins that are absolutely necessary to help you gauge  your site's effectiveness and call your readers to action.  The following are essential and were mentioned multiple times (not in any particular order):

MyBlogLog - Understand your site statistics and who is reading your site.  Ubiquitous tool that also creates a sense of community on your site.

Google Analytics -  One of the most powerful free analytics tools on your site.  Understand where your readers are coming from, which posts generate the most interest.  As you understand when and on what topics to post, you can create a better reading experience for your visitors.

Jaxtr  (CEO of Jaxtr, Konstantin Guericke spoke on the panel)   - Click to Call widget for your site.  Convert customers on your site quickly with this widget.  When one of your readers have a question, all they have to do is click on your widget and they can make an anonymous call.

Plugoo and Meebo - Instant Chat widgets, allows agents to respond quickly to questions in real time.

Native Wordpress Plugins - Featured Listings and Lead Capture Forms.

Also, to display local market knowledge agents can also use local market widgets from Altos Research (Congratulations Mike and Scott for winning the most innovative technology of the year award!)  Another great widget to display local market information is Trulia's widgets including Trulia Stats, Trulia Map, HomeRoll, and Trulia Search to display local price statistics and local listings.

Many more can be found at Trulia's  www.housingwidgets.com and at www.widgetbox.com

A good blog setup, compelling content, and the right combination of widgets and plugins can make your online presence change dramatically and most importantly can generate more business for you!

Bloggers Connect and Duet Panel Kickoff

    by Ken

The 1st Day at Connect was a huge success, especially with the Bloggers Connect debut!  Joel Burslem , host at InmanTV asked for feedback regarding Bloggers Connect and our response  - "Absolutely a Must!" for any new or experienced blogger.  One of the most encouraging trends we noted was the large number of new local blogs that have been started by so many agents.   Discussions and sessions talked about everything from how to monetize your blog, to best blog widgets, to using blogs to manage your online reputation.

The main conference kicked off with spectacular panel duets featuring:

Zillow's Rich Barton and Dale Stinton - CEO, National Association of Realtors

Trulia's Pete Flint and Russ Capper - President, Prudential Real Estate Services

This was as usual some of the best panel match-ups that Brad Inman has been known to consistently deliver.

Day 2 should be a blast with many more geeky sessions…
